The “Veterans Cup Jahorina 2017” in the discipline of giant slalom was held today on the Poljice slope at Jahorina, with participants aged 35 and older eligible to compete.
In the women’s category, aged 70 to 74, the best results were achieved by Katarina Hršum, Smiljka Gavrić, and Jasmina Matić.
The top three in the age group of 50 to 53 years were Slađana Stevanović, Sanela Mihalić, and Maja Alagić Glišić.
Among the men with disabilities, the winners were Nijaz Memić, Dario Hršum, and Jovica Goreta.
In the men’s veterans category, first place went to Dragomir Kovač, and second to Zvonko Mihalić. The top two positions among competitors aged 70 to 84 were secured by Sekula Mičić and Milivoje Milošević.
Also among the top were Ferid Kasumagić, Hazim Kukuruzović, and Ibrahim Čabaravdić.
Milovan Jefrović, Nail Panjeta, and Sretko Hadžiabdić were the winners in the age group of 70 to 74 years.
The awardees also include Vuk Vučinić, Neđo Ždrale, Ferid Hidić, Željko Zovko, Nijaz Rustemović, and Amir Sokolović.
In the 55 to 59 years category, the top three were Radovan Ždrala, Dini Mezetović, and Darko Ilić.
The winners in the age group of 50 to 54 years were Besim Hamidović, Mersad Čuljević, and Nemanja Hrnjez, while in the 45 to 49 years category, the top performers were Dejan Čeremidžić, Milija Kovačević, and Denis Karabdić.
Dragan Đokanović, Miroslav Jukić, and Jasmin Tabić won in the 40 to 44 years category, and Dejan Lučić, Bojan Mališ, and Alen Glavinić triumphed in this year’s youngest category, 35 to 39 years.
The starting point of the course was at 1,450 meters, and the finish at 1,250 meters.
The competition was organized by the Ski Association of the Republic of Srpska and the Olympic Center “Jahorina.”
